Frequently Asked Questions About the Sled Dog Day Tour
Even without snow, the dogs have an enormous urge to move around! If there isn’t enough snow, the day trip isn’t canceled—instead, it’s conducted using special, safe training sleds with wheels. The fascinating experience with the animals and the thrill of steering the team remain exactly the same.
Yes! After a thorough briefing and helping to harness the dogs, you'll take charge of your own husky team. The guide leads the team, and you'll follow him with your sled through the snow-covered wilderness.
Since this is a day-long tour, it’s best to be in good physical shape and have good stamina. You’ll be on your skates for extended periods, actively participating (e.g., when turning or going uphill), and you’ll also be helping out energetically with the preparations.
At lunchtime, a real highlight awaits you at the snow camp: a cozy get-together by the warm fire with a delicious fondue, accompanied by a full-bodied wine, and coffee and pastries to finish.
The entire experience lasts about 5 hours. The time is divided between getting to know the team and harnessing them, extended sleigh rides along the trail, a leisurely fondue lunch, and some petting time, followed by a warming mulled wine reception to round off the day.
